Row Row Row Your Boat

I can't believe I didn't post this video earlier!  It was taken at the end of July.  It shows Kellan saying "row row row" (about 19 secs into the video) - as in "row row row your boat", which is one of his favorite songs.  It takes a bit of prompting (you'll probably hear me whisper-singing the first line of the song, trying to get him to say it).

And yes, his face is covered in avocado. :-)

August Update

Usually I'm much better at updating the blog, but it's been a busy month!  Here are a few updates on K-Man:

Last June, Kellan only had one tooth.  On the bottom, if you recall.  All of a sudden (and all at once), he now has seven.  It's not often that we get a glimpse of his upper teeth, but this photo captures most of his pearly whites.

Kellan's still working hard at perfecting how to walk.  He's making many more attempts on his own and is falling less and less.  Once he walks more often and confidently, he'll be able to move to the next room at daycare with the 1 and 2 year olds (they are called the "Honeybees").  He's already eating the Honeybees' food during the day, made the transition to whole milk from formula, and is down to one nap a day (for the most part).  They've done a great job at helping Kellan's development, and it's clear he's learning and soaking up new things every day.

He's become almost obsessed with pointing, sometimes he does it and doesn't even know what he's pointing at (so then he tries to find something... it's pretty cute).  He has a few words, but does not enunciate them very well yet.  He understands quite a bit, though.  And that includes knowing how to push our buttons (Mommy's, at least), as he simply loves to disobey.  He'll start to do something that we've told him "no" about several times, while turning to look at us... waiting for us to say "no" again... then laugh hysterically when we try to stop him.  It's almost difficult to keep a straight face, it's so obviously purposeful. :-)

I'm constantly amazed at how quickly he's learning and developing.  It's exciting to watch his mind grow and see how he learns to process things.  I'm really looking forward to being able to have actual conversations with him and watch his personality develop.

A quick pic of Kellan in my sunglasses - he still loves accessories!
